I'll bet I hadn't looked at the "map of caches", as you can navigate to on the left hand menu of the main page in at least a month. What a surprise! The icons are all different, and it's very easy to distinguish your own hides, and your found caches. If a cache is sufficiently isolated, it's name will be displayed as well. But you have to have a good 5 mile radius from another listing for the name to be displayed. Most listings in OCUS hotbed Western New York are not displayed, but panning around the U.S. and Canada, I'd say most caches have the name displayed, save for our little hotbeds of activity.

So who did this and when? Has DG been dabbing in the technical stuff?

EDIT: By the way, never mind. If you zoom in sufficiently, every cache name will be displayed. Even my 7 BIT "power trail" along the Buffalo waterfront, which are approximately the bare minimum of 300 feet apart.

I had not seen this update, yet, but it looks very nice.  Was this pushed by Metrax?

This is AFAIK the nice, new OKAPI-map of Opencaching.pl. The development has been done by the Polish OC-team.

I can't find anything like a changelog on the pl-site :(

Of course you can browse through the list of changes on Google code: https://code.google.com/p/opencaching-pl/source/list
Some comments are in English but the majority is in Polish.
