Hi,

maybe we can use the same Buttons on all OC nodes?

On OC.de we have this image design:

Your flags are nice. The font is too bold in my opinion.
Maybe we should have 2 versions of the images - one with OC-Logo for displaying one image standalone and for foreign websites for linking to OC node. And another version for showing the multiple images together without the OC-Logo.

Thanks & regards,
Oliver

BTW: From where do you have the flag-images?
If we use these images at OC.de, i need to notice the source and license of the images.

Yes, I like the images from RVRoadTrip more than our.

And I more like our (old) pics... because they have almost the same style,
while RVRoadTrip pics vary depending on the country displayed. And i assume
he will be in big trouble to press russia in this little square.
Here are our pics:

And what about our old flags of the countries instead of just outlines?
RVRoadTrip

I made the images myself so no copyright issues to deal with.

The image-map of Sweden seems to be mirrored.

A new Version from me.

Again: You get into problems when trying to display russia  8)
Why not use the flags? They have standard size... and everybody of the country knows their flag.

Hmm, Im not seeing the problem with russia:

It's not to small, isn't it?
RVRoadTrip

Most will give the tiny flag image a cursory glance, they read the text to see what the button is for. One of the complaints we see for OC is the outdated look of the sites, I was just trying to spruce things up a bit.  And as always, opinions of those in the US is generally wildly different than those outside the US. And that's not meant in a bad way for either side... :)

You should have seen our page before the re-design of the GUI:

This was really old  8)

Things change but I thought that the opinion on the WORLD WIDE web is almost similar on every continent...

Wow! Very good. Thanks, guys. BTW, I cannot recognize — did you use silhouette of Russia or USSR? Do you have these buttons of bigger size? Moderns monitors have pretty high resolution, these buttons are too small to my taste.

I would like to mention one subtle thing: OC.DE serves for German-speaking users in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. I hope OC.SU (note: SU (Soviet Union), not RU) will serve for Russian-speaking users in exUSSR countries, not just for Russia. So it would be nice to emphasize language, not country. So country silhouette or country flag looks nice and attractive for me but may be considered as offensive by some people... Frankly, I have no idea how to emphasize language graphically... If somebody have any thoughts please speak up.
