I understand there has been efforts to investigate actually unifying the sites, but I also wonder if we should look at a real "branding" of the global OpenCaching community. Up to now, I usually use one of the following....
"The Real OpenCaching / OC"
"The International OpenCaching Community"
"The OpenCaching That is Not Garmin"
It would be nice to have one name / identity to use to, at least, figuratively unite the sites. Perhaps, "OpenCaching Global" or "OpenCaching United" or something. Then perhaps we could have branded gear that could be made available to promote the community as a whole.
Using "OpenCaching EU" to refer to the whole community, doesn't seem to make it seem to include the US, Japan, (the upcoming) Canada, or other future sites outside Europe.
Thoughts?

I have used that, too, come to think of it. It IS the URL for these forums, as well.

My proposal to use the name for the site OC.com name "GarminCaching" instead Opencaching.com :-)

opencaching+, the next generation of geocaching
The "+" is also very popular now,
and I doubt it will ever die out.
Furthermore we show that oc has stepped to a new evolution level
with more sites, new merged code basis and synchronized nodes (**)
