Anyone know the launch dates for each of the OC Network sites.

From one of Garmin OX site admin TrailTech...
We choose a name that reflected our main philosophy behind building the site. Obviously, we picked the name well before the site publicly launched. At that time we picked the name, OpenCaching.us did not exist. The only site using the phrase opencaching, that I remember being aware of at the time we picked the name, was opencaching.de. That site seemed very localized and it seemed that ".de" was very much part of its identity.

Either they did a horrible job of doing their homework, or they're full of it.  I recall hearing about how they did try to have a discussion with .de folks before launch, but had wanted them to sign a non-disclosure agreement beforehand.  I'd think they would have come up with the other sites or at least found the oc.eu page with the links for each national site.

I transferred opencaching.de to my nameserver on April 26th 2006 but the Page was online before.

That's bullshit, it was only the first site to go online but the philosophy behind opencaching was always "global".

.nl was only an info site to the oc.com-forum at that time.
.de info site was in 2003 online, too.

I just stumbled on this thread. This is a lie. Garmin did not purchase Opencaching.com until September, 2010, 3 months before they launched their now failed website, and most importantly, 2 months after opencaching.us was purchased, and a month after it was launched. Pretty interesting info in this old thread though!!!
